Ascend the Rune pillar using the metal cage or pillar ledges and then leap from the top of this pillar to the higher pillar in front. Pull or push the Rune pillar all the way to the left past the entrance until it’s on the left side of the broken metal cage. Now drop down into the Tech Room to trigger a cut scene that marks the end of this level. Head forward until you reach the end of the balcony and then leap onto the horizontal pole. Leap up three more ledges and then shimmy right and drop down onto the balcony. Note: This is where the game picks up the action from the point of the flashback at the start of the game.Īfter you’re in the main hall again, move across the room and climb up the pillar on the right of the fireplace. Travel through this area the same way you did the first time until you reach the part where you drop down through the gap in the broken banister. You may get a feeling of deja vu upon entering this next room because it’s the same burning corridor that you dealt with in the Prologue. Pull the lever to open the door and go into the next room. At this time follow the steps in the Tomb Raider Underworld section below entitled “Rune Pillar Puzzle Solution.” Once you have solved the Rune Pillar Puzzle, move on down the passage until you reach the fuse box. Once you swing through the main Chapel door, head up the staircase and keep going up until you reach the secret chamber of Lara’s father. Time to move, remember you only have a short time to get through once you release the bar. Pull the bar in the middle of the room counter clockwise to open the entrance. If you do this right the two angels of light on the stained glass and the locks on either side of the main door will slide open. Walk around and pull the lever opposite the first lever you pulled twice. Pull the lever that leaves the glass totally covered in shadow three times. The four levers rotate shapes that cast shadows on the stained glass window. Once you reach the top, quickly shimmy to the right side using the Interact Button and then climb up and Grapple-swing across to pass through the main door.
To do this, run over and climb up the series of ledges on the central column next to the iron fence. Once you have opened the main Chapel door by rotating the level, you must move through as quickly as you can before it closes. Read the section below entitled “The Chapel Door Puzzle” and then come back here. Once you reach here your next goal is to open the Chapel’s main door. Go back through the now open doors to the central chamber.
Once the gate rises, throw your block through the door. Carry the block to the end of the hallway and step onto the pressure plate while standing close to the doorway.
Head left once you reach the bottom of the stairs and pick up the stone block sitting around the corner.
Read the section below “How to Open the Side Doors” to learn how to go about opening the side doors. Head through the doorway and down the stairway. Now swing to the third and final pole and then swing and jump off this pole to reach the last platform. Climb to the top of this pole and then jump forward to grab the higher pole. Leap across to reach the stone balcony and then jump onto the horizontal pole in front of you. Once again leap over the edge of this platform onto the platform behind this one and then go jump down to the ground.Īscend the scaffolding on the right and then walk along the planks to the end. After you take care of the bats, jump down over the edge of the platform to the one in front. Eliminate the bats that have been disturbed by your presence first and this will also keep them from distracting you or attacking you later when you’re trying to balance on a beam or about to attempt a death-defying leap. Keep ascending the stairs until you emerge into a space that overlooks the Chapel. Stop at the top of the pole to align yourself with the wooden platform in front and then leap across to it.
Once you find yourself standing in an area that reminds you of an old deserted mine tunnel, ascend the steps and climb the vertical pole.
